We are looking for someone that can see the big picture and is interested in creating places for communities to move and live. The cadet will join our experienced, enthusiastic and innovative Traffic and Transport team leading the industry in active transport.

Under the guidance of experienced supervisors and colleagues, you will help deliver multimodal transport strategies by implementing and supporting a broad range of traffic and transport projects and initiatives. These include the road environment traffic management design and planning, cycling strategy and plans, access and movement strategies, integration of the new movement and place framework and the daily operations of our frequently used road and pedestrian networks.

This is a 7-year cadetship undertaking a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning or related degree. Alongside your university studies, you will gain valuable work experience across a range of different teams and receive ongoing support and guidance to jump start a rewarding role in Local Government. 

We are looking for someone who…

  • Is eligible to enrol in 2022 into the Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning or related degree through a university accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia
  • Has a genuine interest in traffic, transport, and places for people 
  • Is motivated, keen to learn and has enthusiasm to collaborate
  • Is reliable and self-motivated to take responsibility for their own development and learning
  • Can adapt to and work effectively within a variety of changing situations
  • Will seek and accept constructive advice from mentors and more experienced colleagues
  • Can work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Has organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Has a current P1 drivers licence or higher
