Want to combine your  passion for aquatic activities with your customer service and teamwork skills?

Then look no further - consider an opportunity to work and gain valuable life skills and experience at the Parkes Aquatic Centre as a Senior Pool Lifeguard from October 2020 through to April 2021 in a Casual role.

Working casually at the Parkes Aquatic Centre, you will be responsible for the vigilant supervision of Pool users, undertaking water testing to ensure water quality, operating plant and equipment and general maintenance and cleaning of the entire precinct.

Essential Criteria

Given that you have a passion for aquatic activities and dealing with people, to be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • High Level Customer Service
  • Basic Computer Literacy skills
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Working With Children check number
  • Possess or willingness to obtain a Pool Lifeguard Licence
  • Possess or willingness to obtain training in CPR
  • Demonstrated commitment to WHS and EEO principles
  • Demonstrated attributes and work values to become a valuable team member

Other details relating to this position are:

  • The Grade applicable to the position is Grade 6 within Council's salary structure.
  • The base hourly rate for this Grade 6 role is $32.59 which includes a casual loading of 25%. Applicable Award penalty rates (excluding the casual loading) will be applied for hours worked outside ordinary hours. An additional Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of 44 cents per hour is payable.
  • You will need to be available for the week commencing 28 September 2020 for training (including Lifeguard certificate and CPR courses if you do not already possess) and on-site inductions. Note: These courses will be at the applicant's own cost and the induction unpaid.
  • It is a requirement to be immunized against Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B & Tetanus at the applicants cost
  • Employer Superannuation (SGC) of 9.5% applies (as per legislation)
  • Hours of work will be from between 5.30am to 9.00pm Monday to Sunday. You will work under an agreed weekly roster.
  • Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award 2020
