This exciting position will provide facilities planning and operational support to Council’s Community Facilities team. You will be actively planning the facilities of the future such as the new Community Centre at Warrawong. You will work on a range of different projects, assisting in the smooth operations of centres (e.g. Dapto Ribbonwood Centre) and working with a wide range of groups to foster community capacity and social inclusion.

 

This is a 6-year cadetship undertaking a Bachelor of Business at the University of Wollongong. Alongside your university studies, you will gain valuable work experience across a range of different teams and receive ongoing support and guidance to
jump start a rewarding role in Local Government. 
 

We are looking for someone who…

  • Is eligible to enrol in 2022 into the Bachelor of Business at the University of Wollongong
  • Has a strong and genuine community focus and interest   
  • Has appropriate language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills to manage the educational and professional requirements of the cadetship
  • Is reliable and self-motivated to take responsibility for their own development and learning
  • Can adapt to and work effectively within a variety of changing situations
  • Will seek and accept constructive advice from mentors and more experienced colleagues
  • Has organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Can work under pressure and meet deadlines
