A rewarding opportunity has presented itself for a dedicated and driven individual to join our Client Services Team as a Team Leader.

In this role you will lead a small and dynamic team to provide specialised communication support to internal customers, with a focus on the development of creative content and development and management of communications plans and briefs that provide key messages to the community.

This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full time basis.

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $99,521 (Grade I, Step1) + 9.5% super

Your duties in this role will include:

  • Lead the team to provide strategic communications advice and support to internal customers
  • Develop and manage innovative, creative and achievable communications plans
  • Develop the messaging and content for city wide initiatives
  • Implement and manage the yearly proactive communications program
  • Constantly review and evaluate internal communication systems
  • Develop and maintain proactive relationships with internal customers
  • Assist in the development, delivery of Council’s Community Plan, Four Year Delivery Program, Operational Plan and Annual Report
  • Lead, manage and inspire team members towards the shared vision, values and strategy of Council

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in media, communications, public relations or relevant disciplines.
  • At least five years’ experience in the relevant industry and at least three years’ experience in leading and managing a team in communications, marketing or media
  • Demonstrated experience in, and a strong track record of, developing and implementing successful communication messages and strategies that support an organisation’s/client key priorities
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to prioritise workload with a sense of urgency, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing outcomes and efficiencies
  • Proven ability to understand and articulate complex issues and articulate compelling messaging into plain English for the target audience
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and rapport with clients, customers, media, stakeholders, staff and all levels of management.
  • Ability to produce work of a high quality within established timeframes and with minimal supervision
  • A high awareness of political sensitivities and confidential items, and managing the media aspects of these issues effectively.
